LEDES Validation

LEDES Validation is a validation tool for LEDES e-billing file formats. LEDES Validation will validate LEDES 1998B, LEDES 1998BI, and LEDES 1998BI V2 and LEDES XML 2.0 LEDES e-billing files. Simply upload your LEDES e-billing file to this tool and click Submit. LEDES Validation validates for business rules and data formats. Validation logic is based on the rules set forth by the LEDES Oversight Committee (see http://www.ledes.org)

LEDES 1998B

LEDES 1998B is an ASCII, pipe delimited format and is currently the most-widely used ebilling standard in the legal industry.

LEDES 2000

LEDES 2000 (L2K) is the successor to LEDES 1998B which was released in final form to the public in January of 1999.

LEDES 1998B-INTL (aka LEDES 1998BI)

LEDES 1998B-INTL (aka LEDES 1998BI) was released in 2005 as an extension of the LEDES 1998B standard. It contains additional fields intended to meet global e-billing requirements.

LEDES 1998B-INTL Version 2 (aka LEDES 1998BI V2)

LEDES 1998B-INTL VESRION 2 (aka LEDES 1998BI V2) was released as an extension of the LEDES 1998B standard. It contains additional fields intended to meet global e-billing requirements.

LEDES XML Version 2.0

LEDES XML 2.0, released in 2006 is the successor to LEDES XML 2000 and contains additional fields intended to meet global e-billing requirements. The format has not been widely adopted.

LEDES XML Version 2.1

LEDES XML 2.1, released in 2008 is the successor to LEDES XML 2.0 and contains additional fields intended to meet global legal e-billing requirements. As of January 2010 there is no known use of this format. LEDESense is the only commercially rereleased software product that reads and writes the LEDES XML 2.1 format.
